F1 2021 Season Free Picks

With less than two weeks until things get underway in Bahrain, it’s time to take a look at who’s been testing well and who will take 25 points at the end of the month. We head to the Middle East on March 28th for the start of the 2021 Formula 1 season.

With a lot to play for this season, we’ll take a look at not only the F1 odds for the Bahrain GP but also at the futures for the Championship and Constructors’. We’ll base our predictions on odds from the top-tier sportsbooks available to Canadian players.

While Hamilton does start out as the favourite for the race and indeed the championship, this Red Bull team means business. It would certainly light the season up if Verstappen could snatch the win away from Hamilton.

Let’s hear from our In-house motor racing experts and find out how things might unfold this season.

Max Verstappen to get the first win of the season

The odds favour a win for the reigning Formula 1 champion. But, we’ve seen some under-par circuits from Hamilton, while Verstappen is looking electric in an excellent car.

Red Bull will challenge for the Constructors’ championship this season, mark my words. The oddsmakers have these two very close, with Hamilton just tipping it. It’s important to remember that the Brit has won at this circuit 4 times, including the last two seasons.

But, no driver has ever won 3-times in a row in Bahrain. So, the stage is set and if Verstappen can control his temper and focus on what he needs to do, this could be an upset.

Keep your eyes on the Belgian. The odds may shift in favour of Hamilton, but stick with Verstappen, this is the value wager.

Lewis Hamilton to make it eight

Hamilton continues to impress with now 95 race wins in total, the most any driver has ever accomplished in the sport. On top of that, he’s won four straight titles, which makes it six of the last seven.

Not bad. All of which he’s achieved at the age of 36. Hamilton seems to get better and better. He seems as fit and sharp as ever and his motivation to succeed is unrivalled amongst the competition.

The Red Bull man Verstappen looks like the only contender this season. While he’s a very talented driver, he just doesn’t seem to have the edge that Hamilton has proven to have year after year.

Expect the champion to battle for the title this season, more so than we’ve seen in recent years, but when all’s said and done it’ll be number eight.

Mercedes to make it 8th consecutive Constructors’ Championship title

No one has come close in some years now. Mercedes’s dominance of the title looks to continue in 2021, with Red Bull looking like the only team that could potentially compete. But, with a driver like Hamilton in the seat, and Bottas in the other car, it looks like a sure-fire win.

There are some minor changes to the rules of the competition this year. The introduction of a cost cap to limit the amount each team can spend during the season, which certainly will provide some balance to the contest.

As well as that, there are some restrictions to the design of cars, especially the aerodynamics, which is something that will affect how the Mercedes car is set up in Bahrain.

However, regardless of these factors, the odds tell the story. Expect to see a persistent Lewis Hamilton this year.
