Betting the Buffalo Bills (15-4 SU, 12-7 ATS, 11-7-1 o/u)

Coming off of a nail-biting victory over the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round, the Bills are riding high as they hope to become the first team to best the Chiefs in the NFL playoffs since the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021.

With quarterback Josh Allen continuing to play at an MVP level and getting the most out of his supporting cast, the Bills have been one of the most thrilling teams to watch in the NFL this year.

Having performed admirably as a betting option throughout the 2024 season, the Bills have continued this into the playoffs, covering the spread in both of their games played in the postseason.

With just one more game separating them from a trip to New Orleans where they can compete for the top prize in football, the Bills are hoping to stop circling the wagon, and finally sit in the driver’s seat.

Betting the Kansas City Chiefs (16-2 SU, 8-10 ATS, 7-11 o/u)

Seemingly unable to lose come playoff time, the two-time defending Super Bowl champions have continued to find ways to win amidst a season that has been full of adversity. While this hasn’t been their most productive season on the gridiron compared to previous seasons in the Mahomes era, the Chiefs still managed to rattle off 15 wins during the regular season.

After besting the Houston Texans in the divisional round of the playoffs last week thanks to a standout performance from their defence, the Chiefs will need to replicate this if they want to slow down the high-flying Bills offence.

Holding the home-field advantage in this conference championship clash, look for Arrowhead Stadium to be rocking from opening kickoff to the final whistle as they look to make history as the first team to ever three-peat in NFL history.

Key Injuries

Heading into the AFC Championship game the Bills have a few key members of their roster listed with an injury designation. Currently T Dion Dawkins, LB Matt Milano, CB Christian Benford, and S Taylor Rapp are all listed as questionable to compete in their upcoming game.

For the Chiefs, while they are mostly healthy heading into their duel with the Bills, they did receive some unfortunate news earlier this week. WR Mecole Hardman has been designated to the IR, ruling him out for the remainder of the NFL playoffs.

Weather

Set for a chilly evening clash from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, the temperature projects to be below zero, with minimal winds.

  • The Bills and Chiefs played each other during the 2024 regular season, a matchup in which Buffalo took a 30-21 victory. If this was to happen again during the postseason, this would make the Bills moneyline and over 47.5 points the winning picks.
  • Since 2020, the Bills and Chiefs have played eight times, with each team having won four times each. However, the Chiefs have won when it matters most, besting the Bills in all three playoff meetings.
  • In the 2024 NFL playoffs, neither the Bills nor Chiefs have had a matchup exceed the projected point total (0-2-1).
  • In his last three games played against the Chiefs, Bills running back James Cook has averaged 4.66 receptions. His current reception line is set at 1.5.
  • Having played 12 playoff games, Josh Allen has averaged 260.16 passing yards. His current passing yards total is set at just 229.5.
  • Amidst a superb rookie season with the Chiefs, wide receiver Xavier Worthy leads his team in total touchdowns with nine. At +200, he has tremendous value as an anytime touchdown scorer.
  • In his eight playoff appearances since 2022, tight end Travis Kelce has hauled in over 6.5 receptions six times.

Bills vs. Chiefs Predictions

  • While this historic rivalry has been completely one-sided in the postseason, look for this to finally be the year that the Bills exorcise their demons as they best the Chiefs on the road this Sunday. With the Chiefs not sporting the all-star cast that we’ve grown accustomed to, if there’s ever been a year for the Bills to get over the hump, this is it. Possessing an explosive offence and an underrated defence, the Bills are the superior team in this matchup. Look for Josh Allen to put forth a heroic effort as he leads the Bills to their first Super Bowl appearance in 30 years.
  • Even though both sides have had plenty of low-scoring clashes throughout their 2024 campaigns, look for points to come in bunches this Sunday as the over hits early on in the Bills vs. Chiefs. In their three postseason showdowns, over 47.5 points have been scored in all three matchups and five of their last eight in total since 2020. Hammer the over between the Bills vs. Chiefs and watch as your bankroll rises alongside the scoreboard.
