As the Kansas City Chiefs look to become the first team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in a row, they will have to bring their A-Game every single week as teams have rightfully placed a target on their backs.

With the competition seeing “Red” when they look at the Chiefs, they aren’t going to sleep on their “reputation”. If the Chiefs are to continue their ongoing dominance, hopefully for NFL fans the Taylor Swift mentions will be kept to a minimum (sorry).

Looking for a major bounce-back year after suffering a downward spiral in 2023, the Los Angeles Chargers are rocking a new-look roster that they hope will have them positioned to compete for years to come. While there are still some uncertainties around the Chargers heading into the upcoming season, Justin Herbert and Co. are not to be taken lightly.

Another AFC West squad hoping to improve upon their 2023 finish is the Las Vegas Raiders. After a weak offseason, the Raiders will once again rely on their ability to hang tough and put opposing teams in uncomfortable situations thanks to their elite pass rush to generate wins.

Finally, as they hope to move past the failures of their past few seasons, it’s a new day in the Mile High City as the Denver Broncos look to begin building toward the future. With a new young quarterback taking control of the offence, as well as a fierce defensive group, the Broncos are hoping to prove the doubters wrong in 2024.

There’s no shortage of bets waiting to be placed on the 2024 AFC West odds, that’s why we’ve compiled the latest odds, predictions, projections, and picks below so you can make this NFL season the most profitable one yet.

Here’s our AFC West betting preview featuring odds from bet365.

Division odds: -250
Odds to make the playoffs: Yes (-550), No (+375)
Season win total: Over 10.5 (-240), Under 10.5 (+180)

2023 record: 11-6

Key additions: WR Marquise Brown, TE Irv Smith Jr.

Key subtractions: S Mike Edwards, LB Willie Gay, P Tommy Townsend

Most important game on the schedule: Set to face off in a Super Bowl 58 rematch, the Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7 of the regular season. In a battle between the top two contenders for the Lombardi Trophy in the eyes of oddsmakers, sparks are sure to fly in this highly-anticipated rematch.

With both teams returning the majority of their championship rosters, the Chiefs and 49ers rivalry has continued to grow increasingly heated every year. After last season’s climactic overtime finish in the Big Game, it’s no secret that the 49ers are out for blood in this upcoming rematch.

As the Chiefs look to put any speculation as to who the dominant powerhouse of the NFL is to rest, this will be the biggest matchup on their 2024 schedule. With a victory over the 49ers, the Chiefs would gain immense confidence heading into the postseason as they would prove they have what it takes to defeat the biggest threat to their reign over the NFL.

In a potential game-of-the-year candidate, don’t miss out on this marquee matchup as the Chiefs vs. 49ers rivalry writes its latest chapter.

Prop to watch: As the Chiefs’ high-powered offence only seems to have gotten better over the offseason, they are a terrific pick to score the most points in the NFL this season. With the dynamic duo of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce set to continue their All-Pro level of play, the continuing development of running back Isiah Pacheco, as well as newly acquired speedy receivers in Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy, the Chiefs offence may be more explosive than ever before.

With no glaring weaknesses across the field, the Chiefs have a standout offensive line that will help provide both their passing and running game ample time to convert big plays downfield. With Mahomes continuing to carve out his spot as one of the greatest players to lace up a pair of cleats, look for him to repeatedly use his one-of-a-kind arm to torch defences this season.

At +900 odds, the value surrounding the Chiefs to lead the NFL in total points scored is too good to pass up. Bank on the Chiefs to light up the scoreboard on a weekly basis in 2024, netting you a hefty payday as they make the end zone their second home this season.

Potential breakout player: Set to dazzle in his first NFL season, look for rookie wideout Xavier Worthy to make an immediate impact with the defending Super Bowl champs this season.

After a phenomenal combine in which he broke the 40-yard dash time at a blazing speed of 4.21 seconds, the former Texas Longhorn will surely be a match made in Heaven for the Chiefs.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has a history of success playing with speedy receivers (see Tyreek Hill) and turning them into household names. Possessing the ability to out-throw any secondary with one of the fastest players the NFL has ever seen set to join his wide receiver corps, Mahomes-to-Worthy may be one of the most uttered phrases in the 2024 NFL season.

Don’t sleep on Worthy in his rookie season, as he is poised for ample success on the Chiefs. A great bet to claim Offensive Rookie of the Year honours, expect big things to come from him in 2024.

Betting projection: It’s safe to say that the Chiefs are once again going to be a juggernaut in the NFL this season. With no signs of slowing down, the Chiefs are easily the new top dogs in the league, seamlessly filling the void left by Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Having already claimed three Super Bowl victories in the past five years, they are once again poised for a deep run in the NFL playoffs. Looking to become the first team in NFL history to complete a three-peat, the Chiefs may be more motivated than ever in 2024.

For any bettors looking to get some skin in on the Chiefs this season, bank on them to win over 10.5 games and snag their ninth consecutive division title.

Los Angeles Chargers

Super Bowl odds: +3500
To win conference odds: +1800
Division odds: +350
Odds to make the playoffs: Yes +105, No -135
Season win total: Over 8.5 (-155), Under 8.5 (+125)

2023 record: 5-12

Key additions: WR DJ Chark Jr., RB J.K. Dobbins, CB Kristian Fulton, LB Denzel Perryman, TE Hayden Hurst, TE Will Dissly, RB Gus Edwards,

Key subtractions: WR Keenan Allen, WR Mike Williams, RB Austin Ekeler, LB Eric Kendricks, LB Kenneth Murray Jr., TE Gerald Everett,

Most important game on the schedule: An early season test to see how good their current roster construction truly is, the most important game on the Chargers schedule comes in Week 4 as they take on the Chiefs at home.

A great litmus test to see if they have what it takes to compete with the top teams in the NFL, this will also serve as the Chargers’ first taste of divisional play. Needing to remain competitive against one of the NFL’s best squads, this clash could provide valuable insight into the ceiling of this Chargers team in 2024.

In what could become their biggest win of the season, the Chargers will look to gain an early season confidence booster as they look to best the reigning Super Bowl champions on their home field. A win here could provide the Chargers with the life they need to make a push to the postseason, but could also bring them crashing down to mediocrity if they aren’t able to keep things close.

Prop to watch: After a down year in 2023, look for Chargers star quarterback Justin Herbert to have a resurgence this season as he passes for 4,000+ yards. Having completed this task in his first three NFL seasons with ease, it’s safe to assume the standout passer can do it again in 2024.

Possessing phenomenal arm talent that allows him to put passes on a string as they fall softly into his receivers’ hands, Herbert has quickly built himself a reputation as one of the top young quarterbacks in the NFL. As he heads into his fifth season as a pro, Herbert will look to take the leap to elite status this year as he hopes to put the Chargers on the map.

Expect to see Herbert return to his Pro Bowl status, continuing to carve out his spot as one of the top quarterbacks in the modern NFL. With the Chargers relying on him to carry them into their next chapter, look for him to rack up no shortage of yards through the air as he eclipses 4,000 passing yards for a +250 boost to your bankroll.

Potential breakout player: Entering into his fourth NFL season, look for Joshua Palmer to emerge as a breakout player for the Chargers in 2024.

Having been fairly quiet as a tertiary option in the Chargers receiving corps throughout his young NFL career, Palmer may be poised to become a top receiving option for his team this season. After moving on from mainstays Keenan Allen and Mike Williams this offseason, the Chargers will now turn to their longest-tenured wideout for production.

Possessing terrific speed and route running ability, Palmer has shown glimpses of tremendous potential in his career. Set to have an increased role on this year’s Chargers squad, bank on the Canadian receiver to represent the country well as he builds a name for himself at the top level.

Betting projection: After an injury-riddled 2023 season, the Chargers appear poised for a comeback campaign in 2024. Bringing in fresh blood to the Chargers lineup after moving on from longtime offensive skill players Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler, and Mike Williams, it’s a new era in Los Angeles.

Putting all of their eggs into the Justin Herbert basket, the Chargers front office have built a competitive squad that looks poised to make their return to the postseason. Under the control of newly signed Head Coach Jim Harbaugh, the Chargers sport one of the top defences in the NFL to go along with their high-upside offence. With this revitalized lineup, the Chargers could be an upset waiting to happen week in and week out this season.

Bettors should capitalize on the profitable lines currently set by oddsmakers by wagering on them to make the playoffs at +105, earning you a plus-money payday as they take advantage of the lacklustre competition in their division.

The Chargers are also a great pick to exceed their projected win total, nabbing more than 8.5 wins as they bounce back from last season’s disappointing finish.

Key subtractions: RB Josh Jacobs, TE Austin Hooper, DT Bilal Nichols, CB Marcus Peters

Most important game on the schedule: Holding one of the toughest strength of schedules in the NFL this season, the Raiders are set to run through a gauntlet of tough competition in 2024. With low expectations set for this season, the Raiders will have their most important game on the schedule in a winnable matchup against division rival, the Broncos, in Week 5.

Getting their first look at the Broncos on the road at altitude, this game will be played with pride on the line, rather than worrying about a potential postseason finish. With both squads set to struggle this upcoming season, this matchup will be pivotal in avoiding a last-place finish in the AFC West standings.

As both teams continue to try and find their identity, circle this Week 5 matchup on your calendars as they square off in a heated divisional clash.

Prop to watch: I can’t stress enough how low I am on the Raiders heading into the 2024 season. While picking up a stud defensive lineman in Christian Wilkins was a great get for the Black & Silver, they utterly failed in every other way to improve their roster this offseason.

With a roster full of second-string quality players, wins are going to come at a premium for the Raiders in 2024. Looking down the barrel of one of their worst seasons in franchise history, bet the Raiders to finish with the worst record in the NFL this season at +1400.

While they still sport standout talents such as wide receiver Davante Adams and defensive end Maxx Crosby, this simply isn’t enough to remain competitive. Watch as the Raiders are routinely beaten pillar-to-post this season as they struggle to remain within striking distance of virtually every matchup played this year.

Fade the Raiders to the utmost degree and back them to finish with the worst overall record in the NFL in 2024 and score yourself a stellar +1400 payday at the expense of their misfortune.

Potential breakout player: In what is sure to be a bleak season for the Raiders, it won’t all be lows. Primed for a solid rookie season, look for tight end Brock Bowers to dazzle the fans in Sin City with his top-end play.

After being selected 13th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, Bowers was the rightfully the first tight end off the board. Possessing tremendous size at six-foot-four and 240 lbs, coupled with dependable hands to haul in any targets thrown his way, Bowers will be a welcome addition to a Raiders offence devoid of reliable playmakers.

With ample defensive attention sure to go towards Davante Adams, look for Bowers to sneak his way through the weak points of the defence and create big gains as a result.

Keep any eye on Bowers this season as he looks to make an immediate impact in his first season in the NFL, helping push the Raiders rebuild along as a key building block toward the future.

Betting projection: I am begging, pleading, imploring, and urging all bettors to fade the Raiders at every chance you get this season. Easily one of the worst teams in the NFL, losses are going to quickly stack up for the Raiders this year as they finish at the bottom of the barrel in the NFL standings.

With oddsmakers still giving the Raiders some benefit of the doubt with their win total line sitting at 6.5, HAMMER the Under on this market and score yourself a juicy +105 payday and roll in the dough like your Scrooge McDuck with this profitable bet for the upcoming NFL season.

Denver Broncos

Super Bowl odds: +15000

Division odds: +2800
Odds to make the playoffs: Yes +500, No -800
Season win total: Over 5.5 (-150), Under 5.5 (+120)

2023 record: 8-9

Key additions: S Brandon Jones, LB Cody Barton, DT Malcolm Roach

Key subtractions: QB Russell Wilson, S Justin Simmons, C Lloyd Cushenberry III, WR Jerry Jeudy

Most important game on the schedule: In (somewhat of) a revenge game in Week 2, the Broncos will look to get some payback as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, led by their former quarterback, Russell Wilson.

It’s safe to say that the Wilson-era in Denver was a complete failure, with DangerRuss only managing to help the Broncos secure a 11-19 record in his two season stint with the team, producing a career low in passing yards in 2023.

After paying him nearly $50M per year to stink up Empower Field at Mile High for two seasons, the Broncos may want to exact some comeuppance on him in this head-to-head matchup.

While the Steelers are certainly a formidable opponent in the AFC, who knows which version of Wilson will decide to show up in Week 2? With the Broncos hoping to prove they are better off without him, things could get tense between the two sides in this NFL Sunday scrap.

Prop to watch: Set to take command of the Broncos’ offence in 2024, rookie quarterback Bo Nix is a great bet to throw for Over 3,050.5 passing yards.

After a successful college career at Auburn and Oregon, Nix was drafted 12th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. While the pick was scrutinized at the time, Nix has seemingly proven his ability at the NFL level through training camp and the preseason.

After officially being named the starter of the Broncos by Head Coach Sean Payton, it’s safe to assume that Nix will be given all the opportunities to hone his craft this season. While his play may not lead to wins, Nix will likely be able to use his arm often this season as his Broncos are likely to play from behind in the majority of their games.

With the Broncos needing big plays to stay within striking distance of the lead, look for Nix to quickly pile up passing yards, earning you a -110 payout with this top prop to watch for the 2024 NFL season.

Potential breakout player: While it may have been a quiet rookie season for Marvin Mihms Jr., look for him to crank up the noise this year as he breaks out for the Broncos in 2024.

After only managing to garner 33 targets over 16 games in 2024, it’s safe to say that Mihms Jr. hasn’t even scratched the surface when it comes to displaying his potential at the pro level. A quick receiver, Mihms Jr. has proven he has sure-hands throughout his career, making incredible grabs from anywhere on the field.

With the Broncos in full-rebuild mode this year, look for Mihms Jr. to step up and play a pivotal role in the Broncos’ future development, as well as getting some time to showcase his talent to the football world that may have forgetten about the second-round pick out of Oklahoma.

Betting projection: Not far behind the Raiders in my list of teams to fade at any given opportunity in the 2024 NFL season, this Broncos season is going to get ugly fast. With an overhauled roster that has somehow gotten worse when compared to the circus being run last year, expectations for the Broncos should be at an all-time low.

After the debacle that was the Russell Wilson experience in Denver, the Broncos will need to take this season to reflect and learn from their mistakes, keeping their focus toward the future as they hope to build around key young pieces such as Pat Surtain II, Javonte Williams, and Bo Nix.

Bet the Under on the Broncos win total as they finish with less than five total wins this season, earning you a sizeable payday at a fantastically well-priced +120 odds.
