About the Raptors (15-21 SU, 18-18 ATS, 20-16 o/u)

The Raptors will be playing the fourth contest of a six-game road trip on Tuesday and they’re 2-1 straight-up and 2-1 against the spread on the current West Coast swing.

Toronto scored 133 points in Sunday’s win against Golden State and shot a season-best 58.5% from the field. It was just the fourth time in franchise history that the Raptors have scored at least 130 points in consecutive games. Over the last five games, they’re averaging 126 points (second in the league during that span) and shooting 52% from the field, including 42% from three-point range.

Barrett scored a season-high 37 points and drained five three-pointers on Sunday. He’s averaging 21 points, 6.5 rebounds, and three assists while shooting 53.8% from the field and 52.6% from long range since being acquired by Toronto.

Toronto’s bench is also getting the job done lately, notching 40 or more points in consecutive games for the first time this season. Chris Boucher and Dennis Schroder have been leading the charge offensively for the unit, averaging 15.5 points over those games. Boucher, who scored a season-high 17 points on Sunday, could see an uptick in minutes on Tuesday due to the injury to centre Jakob Poeltl (more on that below).

About the Lakers (18-19 SU, 16-21 ATS, 19-18 o/u)

The Lakers are just 4-10 since winning the NBA in-season tournament, but they were able to hold a potent Clippers offence at bay on Sunday to grind out a slim victory. Lakers defenders held the Clippers to 39.6% from the field, tied for their worst shooting in a game this season.

Offensively, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, despite being hobbled by nagging injuries, combined to shoot 61.8% from the floor and the Lakers shot 51.2% as a team in the win. James played one of his best games of the year defensively, too, holding Kawhi Leonard pointless while he was the primary defender in the contest.

The Lakers have found success at home this season, posting a 12-6 record (8-10 ATS).

RJ Barrett over 1.5 threes made

-125

Injury concerns

For the Raptors, Poeltl (ankle) is out. Forward Otto Porter Jr. (knee) is doubtful. Centre Christian Koloko is still out with a respiratory illness.

For the Lakers, forward Rui Hachimura (calf) is doubtful and guard Gabe Vincent (knee) is out. James (ankle) is questionable and Davis (ankle) is probable.

  • The Raptors are 7-1 SU and 7-1 ATS in their past eight games against the Lakers in Los Angeles.
  • The over is 5-1 in the past six meetings between the teams.
  • The over is 5-1 in Toronto’s last six games.
  • Scottie Barnes holds career averages of 24.3 points, 13 rebounds and 5.5 assists in four career games (all starts) against the Lakers. Barnes has shot 60.9% from the field in these games and his career high in points (32) and rebounds (17) have both come against the Lakers.
  • Lakers forward Taurean Prince has recorded at least two assists in six of his last seven games, averaging 2.4 per game during that span. He’s -130 to record over 1.5 assists.
  • Barrett drained five three-pointers last time out and is -125 to record over 1.5 threes made. He’s exceeded that total in three straight contests.

Wagers to consider

  • Raptors team total – over 115.5 points: -115. The Raptors have cleared this posted team point total in eight straight games and are averaging 125.7 points in four games since acquiring Barrett and Quickley. The Lakers have allowed an average of 114.6 per game this season and rank ninth in the NBA in defensive rating (114.1).
  • Scottie Barnes over 19.5 points: -105. Barnes notched just six points in 24 minutes against the Warriors, but he should bounce back here. He’s eclipsed 20 points in eight of his last 10 games and 13 of his last 15.
