Canadian Football League: Best Stadiums For Families Revealed

With one month left in the 2024 CFL season, we have analyzed all the current stadiums in the Canadian Football League to determine what are the cheapest and the most expensive stadiums to attend as a family. 

The data was counted for a family of four (2 adults & 2 children) and it includes metrics such as average cost of tickets, cost of drinks, cost of hot dogs, cost of parking as well as information regarding the child admission policies for the various stadiums in East and West division. 

THE CHEAPEST STADIUMS

As can be seen in the graphic above, Commonwealth Stadium (Edmonton Elks) in Edmonton, Alberta turned out to be the cheapest stadium to attend a CFL game as a family with a total average cost amounting to $138.25. 

Tim Hortons Field (Hamilton Tiger-Cats) in Hamilton, Ontario is the second cheapest CFL stadium with an average family outing standing at $143.73, while BC place (BC Lions) in Vancouver, British Columbia turned out to be the third cheapest with an average cost of $180.75 for a family of four. 

THE MOST EXPENSIVE STADIUMS

On the other hand, Percival Molson Memorial Stadium (Montreal Alouettes) in Montreal, Quebec was determined to be the most expensive stadium for a family of four with a total average cost of attending a CFL game amounting to $237, followed by Mosaic Stadium (Saskatchewan Roughriders) in Regina, Saskatchewan with an average cost of $228.12. 

THE MOST EXPENSIVE & THE LEAST EXPENSIVE ITEMS

When looking at the different parts of the analysis, Commonwealth Stadium (on average) has the cheapest tickets ($109.25) and two soft drinks ($8) and it is tied with Tim Hortons Field, BC Place and Mosaic Stadiums for the cheapest average price of two beers ($10); it is also in a tie for the cheapest parking ($0) with Tom Hortons Field, which also has the lowest average price of four hot dogs ($8). 

Percival Molson Memorial Stadium has (on average) the most expensive tickets ($168) , McMahon Stadium has the most expensive beers ($25) and soft drinks ($13), Princess Auto Stadium has the most expensive hot dogs ($32), while Mosaic Stadium has the most expensive parking ($30).

  • Prices of the various categories were added up to create an overview of the cheapest and most expensive stadiums in CFL
