Best Actor vs. Best Actress – Longer Speech
Speaking of length, it wouldn’t be an Oscars broadcast without a few overly-long, run-on speeches that risk getting played off by the orchestra. Getting the musical hook is typically reserved for those lacking star power, think lowly film editors and make-up artists, so the longest uninterrupted speeches are always made by the A-listers.
That brings us to Best Actor vs. Best Actress for who will talk the longest. If we’re going by our CSB predictions, it’ll be a matchup between Colin Farrell and Cate Blanchett. This makes it an easy call for me, as there are few in the world who can speak longer, and with more enthusiasm, than the Irish. Should Farrell take it, expect a wordy one.
