The Boston Bruins will attempt to extend their winning streak to seven games on Monday night when they visit the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place.
Boston enters the contest as winners of six straight games after skating to a 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, while Edmonton is coming off a disappointing 6-5 loss to the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets also on Saturday.
The Bruins are -140 moneyline road favourites and the total is set at 6.5 goals on Monday night at bet365.

About the Bruins (45-8-5, 37-21 ATS, 24-29 o/u)
Everything is going right for the Bruins this season and they got even better after acquiring defenceman Dmitry Orlov and forward Garnet Hathaway ahead of Friday’s trade deadline. Orlov is a steady top-four defenceman that will help solidify an already stout blue line while Hathaway is among the league leaders in hits and will provide some toughness and grit to the team’s fourth line.
Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark is the frontrunner for the Vezina Trophy as the league’s top goaltender this year as he leads the NHL with 30 wins and a .938 save percentage, but he also dazzled the hockey world by netting an empty-net goal on Saturday against the Canucks. The goal helped Boston cover the 1.5-goal puckline and improve to an incredible 37-21 ATS this season. Ullmark became the first Bruins netminder in franchise history and the first NHL goalie in three years to accomplish the feat.
Player to watch: Jake DeBrusk
The Bruins forward has been hot since returning from injury on Feb. 18, recording three goals and two assists in four contests. He also tallied a pair of outdoor goals in the Winter Classic against the Pittsburgh Penguins in a game in which he suffered a leg injury that kept him out for more than a month.
About the Oilers (32-20-8, 32-28 ATS, 37-18 o/u)
Finding the back of the net hasn’t been a problem for the Oilers this year as they lead the league in goals scored per game (3.83) and power play percentage (32.1%). However, keeping the puck out of their own net continues to be an issue as the team is allowing 3.28 goals per game, which ranks 20th in the NHL.
With only days until the trade deadline, rumours are swirling that Edmonton will attempt to acquire a marquee defenceman for a playoff push. San Jose’s Erik Karlsson, Arizona’s Jakob Chychrun, and Nashville’s Mattias Ekholm are just some of the names being floated around, and it’ll be interesting to see if the Oilers can pull off a blockbuster deal in attempt to improve the club the defensively.
Player to watch: Leon Draisaitl
Draisaitl has scored in seven straight games, tied with teammate Connor McDavid and Minnesota’s Kirill Kaprizov for the longest streak in the league this season. He also has 12 points over this last eight contests. The aforementioned McDavid is also scorching hot, as usual, recording six goals and 10 assists over his last six games.

- Jake DeBrusk anytime goal: +200. With goals in three of his last four games, DeBrusk could be a sneaky play in a game featuring so many top snipers. There isn’t much value in betting on McDavid (+110), Draisaitl (+110) , or David Pastrnak (-110) to score a goal in this one.
- 1st 10 minutes both teams to score a goal: +450. Look for these teams to come out flying with so much firepower on both sides. This is a measuring stick game for the Oilers and the McDavid line should see plenty of ice time early in an attempt to set the tone and grab an early lead. And Edmonton simply can’t keep the puck out of its own net. There could be plenty of goals in this one, especially if Ullmark isn’t in between the pipes for Boston.
