Los Angeles Chargers vs. Houston Texans
Chargers Betting Record: 11-6 SU, 12-5 ATS, 8-9 o/u
Texans Betting Record: 10-7 SU, 7-8-2 ATS, 6-11 o/u
Kicking off the NFL playoffs with a battle between two talented young squads, the Los Angeles Chargers will look to pull off the road victory against the champions of the AFC South, the Houston Texans.
While the Texans managed to secure a playoff win in last year’s postseason, don’t expect to see them replicate this success as they are handed a loss by the Chargers this weekend. While both teams have had rocky seasons, the Chargers are simply the safer bet to make.
The league has seemingly diagnosed how to stop the offence of the Texans, evident by their four-point decrease in points scored per game in the second half of the year. Now set to face a Chargers defence that allowed the fewest points per game in the NFL during the regular season, the Texans should struggled to put points on the board.
Additionally, from a betting perspective the Chargers have been one of the best in the NFL. With a 12-5 record against the spread (the best in the NFL shared alongside the Broncos and Lions), the Chargers should have no problem covering the three points and marching on to victory.
Expect to see a low-scoring matchup as both teams experience slow offensive days, resulting in a grind-it-out type of matchup that falls right into the hands of Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers.
Prediction: Chargers -3 | Under 42.5 points
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens
Steelers Betting Record: 10-7 SU, 11-6 ATS, 8-9 o/u
Ravens Betting Record: 12-5 SU, 10-6-1 ATS, 13-4 o/u
Facing off for the third time in the 2024 season, we will see a rubber match between two bitter rivals in the AFC North as the Pittsburgh Steelers look to extend their season against the surging Baltimore Ravens.
The last time these two teams met the Ravens scored the decisive victory, defeating the Steelers 34-17. With the Steelers having dropped four straight games heading into the postseason clash, bank on the Ravens to replicate the results of their last meeting as they beat the Steelers from pillar to post.
With Lamar Jackson continuing to play at an all-time great level alongside standout rusher Derrick Henry, the Ravens have been borderline unstoppable offensively. Along with this, the Steelers offence has hit a roadblock, having failed to score 20 or more points throughout their lengthy losing skid.
Showing no signs of slowing down heading into the playoffs, look for the Ravens to cover the spread as the biggest favourites of the Wild Card weekend, keeping the score one-sided as the under hits in this tilt.
Prediction: Ravens -9.5 | Under 43.5 points
Denver Broncos vs. Buffalo Bills
Broncos Betting Record: 10-7 SU, 12-5 ATS, 10-6-1 o/u
Bills Betting Record: 13-4 SU, 10-7 ATS, 11-6 o/u
Welcoming the young underdog Denver Broncos back to the NFL playoffs for the first time since Super Bowl 50, the Buffalo Bills will look to continue their own push toward the Super Bowl during Wild Card Weekend.
While the Broncos were certainly a surprise team to make the postseason this year, they shouldn’t be looked at as any sort of threat to the Bills. With quarterback Josh Allen in the midst of a career season, the Bills have steamrolled the majority of their competition faced in 2024.
Taking on a Broncos team that just barely squeezed their way into playoff bracket, look for the Bills to prove there’s levels to this game, shellacking their opponents as they cover the spread in what’s sure to be a high-scoring affair.
Prediction: Bills -8.5 | Over 47 points

Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Packers Betting Record: 11-6 SU, 9-8 ATS, 8-8-1 o/u
Eagles Betting Record: 14-3 SU, 11-6 ATS, 7-10 o/u
In a rematch from their Week 1 battle in São Paulo, Brazil, the Green Bay Packers will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in a heavyweight showdown on Wild Card Weekend. Set to have the highest combined win percentage of any opening round matchup this weekend, this clash is set to be an all-out barnburner.
Set for another competitive battle, look for the Eagles to edge out the Packers yet again when it matters most. While the Packers have shown glimpses of sensational potential this season, they haven’t been consistent enough to be viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender in 2024.
After finishing the regular season with back-to-back losses in crucial situations, the Packers enter the postseason in the middle of a lull. Meanwhile, the Eagles have continued to fly high as they will have no trouble utilizing their sensational run game led by Saquon Barkley in order to easily eat up yardage against the Packers.
There’s going to be no shortage of fireworks on the gridiron in this one, so be sure to hammer the over alongside the Eagles point spread in order to maximize your profits earned on this thrilling bout.
Prediction: Eagles -4.5 | Over 45.5 points
Washington Commanders vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Commanders Betting Record: 12-5 SU, 10-6-1 ATS,11-6 o/u
Buccaneers Betting Record: 10-7 SU, 10-7 ATS, 12-5 o/u
In a rematch of their 2020 playoff tilt, the Washington Commanders will look to settle the score against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night.
After a rocky regular season, the Buccaneers managed to claw their way back up the NFC South standings in order to secure themselves a divisional championship, as well as a home-field playoff game in the opening round of the playoffs. While their efforts this season have been commendable, it will all be for naught as the Commanders are primed to pull off the upset road victory.
While the Buccaneers were able to earn the blowout victory in the lone head-to-head meeting between these teams in Week 1, a lot has happened in that time. With the Bucs dealing with a myriad of injuries on both sides of the football, coupled with the emergence of Commanders rookie superstar Jayden Daniels, the script has been flipped in this duel.
Watch as Daniels has no trouble ripping off big plays downfield against the banged-up Buccaneers secondary, putting up ample points as they silence the crowd at Raymond James Stadium as the Commanders earn the lone betting underdog victory of the weekend.
In the process, Daniels will continue to make history as he becomes the 13th rookie quarterback to win a playoff game, extending this streak to three-straight years as C.J. Stroud and Brock Purdy also etched their names onto this list in 2023 and 2022 postseasons, respectively.
Prediction: Commanders ML | Over 50.5 points
Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams
Vikings Betting Record: 14-3 SU, 11-5-1 ATS, 7-10 o/u
Rams Betting Record: 10-7 SU, 9-8 ATS, 8-9 o/u
Set to cap off the Wild Card round of the 2024 NFL playoffs, the Minnesota Vikings will travel out West to take on the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.
Continuing to exceed expectations season after season, the Rams have once again not only punched their ticket to the postseason, but did so as division champions. While this was a bit of surprise considering the amount of talented teams in the NFC West, they will have the misfortune of drawing a phenomenal Vikings team in the opening round.
Even though they’re the fifth-seed in the NFC playoffs, the Vikings finished as the third-best team record-wise in all of the NFL during the regular season. With legitimate potential to make a run for the Super Bowl, the Vikings will have no trouble routing the Rams on the road in this postseason meeting.
With the limited offensive upside of the Rams, paired with the high-scoring ability of the Vikes, look for the score to quickly get out of hand as the Vikings easily cover the spread and continue their journey through the NFL playoffs at the expense of the Rams on Monday night.
Prediction: Vikings -1.5 | Under 47 points
